SETTING UP OUTLOOK
TO SEND AND RECEIVE EMAIL
Use this help topic to set up Microsoft
Outlook to send and receive email. In order to do this, you must
have set up your email accounts to forward email to the user's mailabox
on the server. A separate article in this help
section provides information on setting
up email accounts using the Control Panel.
Configuring Microsoft Outlook
Note
that these steps may vary slightly based on the version of Microsoft
Outlook you are using.
- In Outlook, select Tools
from the main menu, and then select Accounts. The
Internet Accounts dialog box opens.
- Make sure the Mail tab is
selected. Single-click on the Add> button, and
then choose Mail from the pop-up list. The Internet
Connection Wizard opens, displaying the Your Name page.
- Type your name in the Display
Name field. Select Next>. The Internet
E-mail Address page displays.
- Type the e-mail address you have
set up on your account (such as jsmith@yourdomain.com)
from your hosting company in the E-Mail address
field. Select Next>. The E-mail Server
Names page opens.
- Set the POP3 option in the
My incoming mail server is a ____ server drop-down list.
Enter the name of your Incoming Mail Server: This
is your domain name (e.g., yourdomain.com). Enter
the name of your Outgoing Mail Server: This is yourdomainname.com.
When done, select Next>.

- The Internet Mail Logon
page displays. Type the e-mail username (such as jsmith)
and password for your e-mail account in the appropriate fields.
Note: Type only the user name (jsmith) and not
the email address (jsmith@yourdomain.com)

- At the Congratulations screen,
select Finish to complete the setup.
